You are so adored by your hard-working and fun-loving parents, grandparents, aunties, and uncles: Life will be a great adventure.

Along the way, we’ll surround you and pray you'll be surrounded by God’s angels too.

Your Nonny wasn't prepared. Yes, I was prepared to love and hold you ... but not for how all-consuming my thoughts would be now that you both exist in this world.

You're no longer part of our “someday" but are living, breathing members of our family, the human race, and God's eternal Kingdom.

I will pray for you each day. Here’s one for this moment:

Thank you, oh Lord, for my granddaughters, for the wonderful gifts they are and the immense joy they bring.

May they forever be treated fairly—with kindness, tenderness, compassion, and respect. Let their innocence be preserved.

Please let them know the protection, empathy, and grace of yourself and others.

Let them be children for as long as they can.

Draw them closer and closer to you the older and older they become.

May they live with purpose—honoring and glorifying you with their life's work—every one of their days.We thank you and praise you!

Recollections may falter and early experiences are not often recalled, but our hearts remember those who cherish us.

What words are sufficient to relay how much you mean?

I’ve yet to find one that satisfies, but, fortunately, they aren't always necessary.
