My prayer is that as you read my stories, God would bless you with new revelations about your own life stories.
I’m Debbie Prather; a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Writing is my way of making sense of a chaotic world and leaving a loving legacy for my kids and grandchildren. I wish to be an inspiration for you to do the same, in whatever ways are meaningful to you.
My encouragement is to have endless grace for your family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. The human voyage leaves no one unscathed. Everyone is going through something difficult and generosity, warmth, and respect go so much further than we know.
My previous blog of ten years, entitled 742iloveyou, was inspired by that phrase, which my husband and I have used since college (twice a day whenever seeing those numbers on the clock) to declare our love for one another. Forty years later, 742 is still our family’s “secret” code for tenderness and commitment. Read more of that story, here.
I’ve expanded my reach over the past decade and have been published in anthologies and on marriage and parenting websites, which led to various interviews and fulfilling connections. I’ve also written children’s stories and a novel, yet unpublished.
I will continue writing in all the aforementioned forms—as long as the Lord allows—and share my works with you here.
Thank you for looking around and coming along with me on this adventure. I'm cheering you on too! I’d love to hear from you, especially how God has wired you for passion and creativity and what, these days, is stilling your heart. I would also be honored to pray for you and your loved ones. You can contact me here.
May we glorify Him in all that we do and find joy in the journey—God bless you!
